Supporting school leaders to prioritise and develop curriculum

Curriculum empowers pupils. The acquisition of knowledge opens worlds, prepares pupils for participating in society, and takes pupils ‘beyond their own experiences’ (Young, 2014). This is an entitlement for all, and therefore curriculum must be prioritised. Whole-school frameworks will enable pupils’ academic success by respecting subject expertise and allowing subject distinctiveness to thrive. By forging collaborative partnerships and delivering ongoing support, or through stand-alone specialised professional development, I aim to support all levels of school leaders to lead and develop curriculum.

Services

I provide school support and professional development courses. I can offer these services to individual schools or groups of schools. I have experience working as a school improvement partner, providing ongoing support, and delivering stand-alone workshops and professional development sessions.

School support

I have been routinely deployed to schools since 2014 as a Specialist Leader of Education. Deployments have focused on developing leadership capacity at whole-school and subject level through coaching.

Since 2019 I have worked as a freelance education consultant. Commissions have included trust-wide, whole-school, and subject-level issues. I have also been contracted to complete bespoke work for UK-based and international exam boards.

Professional development courses

I have led professional development as a member of the senior leadership team in two large contrasting schools, and for 240 schools across a Teaching School Hub as CPD Lead.

I regularly present at conferences and deliver professional development for major education companies and a subject association. I have also been commissioned to provide bespoke professional development for schools and multi-academy trusts.
